The Gazprom headquarters hosted on Friday a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company's Management Committee and Leonid Mikhelson, Chairman of the NOVATEK Management Committee. Taking part in the meeting was also Andrey Akimov, Chairman of the Gazprombank Management Board.

Gazprom may in the future exercise its voting rights for the shares which the Russian gas giant holds in East Germany's largest gas supplier, Verbundnetz Gas AG (VNG). The German Antitrust Authority has on Friday stated that they will approve that Gazprom may exercise the voting rights of its minority interest of 10.52 percent of VNG. The final decision will be made by the end of the month.

Russia's Federal Statistics Service has published a report on the prices of fuel for cars. In October, prices increased on average by 0.7 percent, according to the news service Voice of Russia.

Russia has won the support of the world’s 12 largest natural-gas exporters over the need to cooperate in developing projects for production and sale of the fuel to raise prices and boost supply at the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) in Doha on Wednesday. Russia’s Energy Minister Sergey Shmatko has described this as an integral part of the Russian energy diplomacy. This is reported by the news service Voice of Russia.

A program for the development of Russia's Arctic shelf is presented to the country's government for a discussion of different scenarios. According to planned schedule, the program shall be adopted at a Cabinet meeting in December. The development of the Shtokman-field in the Barents Sea is among the Arctic projects which are discussed.

Gas output rose 3.7 percent year-on-year to 546.8 bcm in January-October 2011 and went up 4.7 percent year-on-year to 55.7bcm in October 2011, according to RosBusinessConsulting which is referring to data to data released by the Energy Ministry.

On Tuesday November 8, Germany`s Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel - together with President Dmitry Medvedev and the Prime Ministers of France François Fillon and the Netherlands Mark Rutte and EU Energy Commissioner Günther Oettinger – will formally inaugurate the first of Nord Stream's twin 1,224 kilometre gas pipelines through the Baltic Sea. When fully operational in late 2012, Nord Stream's two lines will have the capacity to transport 55 billion cubic metres of Russian gas a year to the EU for at least 50 years.

During an official meeting on October 26 between Ukrainian National Bank Chairman Sergei Arbuzov, Russia`s acting finance minister Anton Siluanov and executives of the Bank of Russia and Gazprom an agreement about payments of Russian gas deliveries has been reached. The agreement includes payments – beside of the usual U.S. dollar - also in rubles. This was reported by the news agency ITAR-TASS.

Ukraine will not "bear the financial responsibility for the (former) suspension of gas deliveries to EU", said the country's First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Kljujev. According to him, the EU and Ukraine reached an agreement under Kljujevs last visit to Brussels. He visited the EU capital to negotiate a deal with the EU-countries on the formation of a free trade zone and an association agreement. The Minister stressed that the meetings resulted also in other agreements that are fundamental for the country.

Russia and China want to continue negotiations about deliveries of Russian natural gas and will until the end of the year conduct a series of meetings between the Chinese company CNPC and Russia's Gazprom, said Russia's Deputy Energy Minister Anatoly Yanovsky during a meeting with journalists.
